Mercedes-Benz Trucks, a division of Daimler Truck, is set to unveil its latest electric truck model, the eActros 600, on October 10th. The eActros 600 is a semi-trailer tractor that is designed for long-haul transport with a range of up to 500 km (310 miles) on a single charge. The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is part of the integrated eActros solution, which includes eConsulting and digital services to help customers transition to electric mobility.

The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is based on the concept prototype that was presented at the IAA Transportation 2022 but with some modifications to improve aerodynamics and cooling. The electric truck features a sleek and futuristic cab with a large grille that houses the charging port and an LED light strip that indicates the battery status. The interior will also have some innovations, but the details are yet to be revealed.

The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 electric truck is powered by four lithium-ion batteries, each with a capacity of around 112 kWh, for a total of 448 kWh. The batteries are located under the cab and on both sides of the frame. They feed an electric axle with two integrated electric motors, which deliver a continuous output of 400 kW (536 hp) and a peak output of over 600 kW (805 hp).

The eActros 600 can be charged at up to 160 kW using a CCS Combo-2 plug, which means it can go from 20% to 80% battery in about an hour and a half. The truck also supports the MCS charging standard, which allows for ultra-fast charging at up to 1 MW. This way, the truck can achieve a range of around 500 km (310 miles), which is sufficient for most long-haul transport applications.

The eActros 600 also comes with proven assistance systems from Mercedes-Benz Trucks to enhance safety and comfort, especially in urban areas. These include Stability Control Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Attention Assist, Sideguard Assist, Active Brake Assist, tire pressure monitoring, and Roll Control Assist. The cab will also be equipped with a new fire detection and alarm system to warn drivers in case of an emergency.

The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is an electric truck and part of an integrated solution that includes eConsulting and digital services. Mercedes-Benz Trucks offers customized advice and support for customers who want to switch to electric mobility, such as planning the optimal charging infrastructure and fleet management.

The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is one of the pillars of Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ strategy to achieve carbon-neutral transport by 2039. The company also plans to launch hydrogen fuel-cell trucks by 2027 and increase its use of renewable energy sources.
